Discrete True All-Mode Protection
High Performance SPDs employ a Discrete True All-Mode Protection methodology. This unique design provides independent protection elements for all electrical pathways (modes) in a given electrical system scenario.
Why This Design Provides Superior Protection:
- There are no sharing of protection components to protect a pathway in
our SPD. If there is an electrical pathway in the system, its protected
with individual components. Unlike many competing SPDs, Advantage® Series units do not use four mode or seven mode designs to protect ten.
If there are ten modes in a system, all ten modes are protected directly.
- Designs don't skip protecting a pathway altogether claiming surges don't occur in that mode. Surges can occur in any mode. This has been proven in the field and can be found stated in electrical industry publications.
- Voltage Equalization. Bonding all pathways (modes) to the same potential (SPD design) creates voltage equalization during a surge event. This advanced design mitigates power surges AND equalizes the voltage during the surge event.
- Delivers industry best Let-Through Voltage (MLV) performance.

- Frequency Responsive Circuitry™ technology employs a multi-stage hybrid design blending SSI's Optimal Response Circuitry™ dynamics with Advanced Frequency Responsive Circuitry™ Performance.
- The resulting hybrid design suppresses internally generated RingWave transients down to harmless levels, yet is still capable of handling thousands of repetitive high-energy impulse surges. This combination provides a level of durability and performance that is unmatched.
- Without Frequency Responsive Circuitry™ sensitive electronics are susceptible to fast rise, oscilating and repetitive RingWave transients other technologies fail to address effectively.
- Frequency Responsive Circuitry™ is not an EMI/RFI Filter nor partial SineWave Tracking technology. SSI's Frequency Responsive Circuitry™ delivers a superior level of protection.
ElectroChemical Circuit Encapsulation
All SSI power surge protector devices utilize high dielectric circuit encapsulation. This technology is used in high-end, mil-speck applications. The encapsulation enhances the Let-through voltage (MLV) performance by reducing the overall size of the device. SPD durability, longevity and reliability is improved by increasing component and circuit integrity.
